As some of you "IT" fans may already know, "IT" doesn't have any one true form. Instead, it takes the form of your biggest fear and uses it to render you defenseless and should it have it's way, DEAD. After watching "IT" for a second time, it hit me. "IT" must be a boggart! For those of you who don't immediately know what I'm talking about, here it is in muggle terms, “A boggart is a shapeshifter that usually lurks in dark spaces. It has no definite form, taking the shape of that which is most feared by the person who encounters it. When not in the sight of a person, it is believed to look like a dark blob."
Sound familiar? What if a boggart made the decision to ignore the rules of the wizarding world and instead lurk in the shadows to haunt muggles? It wouldn't be long before you would find easy prey, especially in a small town like "Derry." All it would have left to do is pick ONE form....
PENNYWISE THE CLOWN. This form could easily feast on the fears of children and in order to not get caught by the ministry, "IT" only comes out every 27 years...
Here's something else to consider: Both authors write about the "supernatural world." Not just magic and horror. So is it really too farfetched to believe that the form of 'Pennywise' could live in a supernatural world like HP? What do you think?
