WHOA SNAPCHAT! YOU'VE GOT US FEELING LIKE ROCKWELL
Here are a few things you should know about the new update!
Snap Map is a new location sharing update to the photo & video messaging social app, where you can see where all of your Snapchat friends are in real time and what stories they are posting.
You've probably already shared your location with friends over Snapchat before by snapping a photo, swiping to the left and adding a geo-filter before sending it to your story. The new update however, keeps your location on an animated map, in real time, all day!
WHERE IS THIS MAP I SPEAK OF?
I KNOW, CREEPY RIGHT? Even if all of your friends on Snapchat are legitimate friends, who wants to feel watched?
There's a solution! Ghost mode will let you keep your location private but you can still search around for your Snapchat friends location – if they decide to keep their location public. Not sure if this helps completely, but your location is only visible to people you add as friends, not necessarily the people who just randomly add you. Here's what your bitmoji (avatar/character) looks like on the map. (Placement wise. I'm sure your bitmoji isn't wearing a red dress and sporting lowcut nude colored boots. Unless this bitmoji is yours, than sorry in advance for using your bitmoji as a reference for my blog. It's for the greater good I promise.)
To keep your location private from your friends you will have to turn on Ghost Mode.
Once Ghost Mode is activated you should still see your bitmoji on the map but not in full. Your bitmoji will be hiding its face to signal that it is on Ghost Mode and a little ghost icon will appear on the settings icon to tell you so also. Only you are able to see that version of your bitmoji. Once in ‘Ghost Mode’ no one can see your location, but you can still search on the Snap Map looking at your friends stories based on their location and their whereabouts.
Stay safe on social media ya'll!
