This past Thursday I attended the "All Eyez On Me" red carpet premiere with the Contexture TV team and my new intern Matt. I honestly didn’t know what to expect since I hadn't been to a red carpet premiere in a couple of years. The event took place in downtown Chicago, and I had probably no more than a couple of hours at most to; get to the mall, pick out an outfit, charge up my camera's & head out for the evening with a 45 minute drive in front of us. Here was the tricky party, It was close to 90 degrees outside but as we all know, you need a blanket inside of most movie theaters to weather the cold. The challenge? Dressing fashionable without ending the event drenched in sweat while semi-frozen or compromising freedom of movement because if my memory served me right, the red carpet would be fast paced. Thank god for Rue 21's clothing being of a wide variety, thin & most importantly, made up of a lot of "relaxed" fitting options. It took me less than 20 minutes to piece something together.
At the counter, it turns out the shorts were buy 1 at reg. price get another for $1 (offer expires tomorrow, June 17th, 2017) and the crew socks rang up at $1 a piece. Not to mention the "west coast" hooded button-up I found on clearance for $29 but rang up for a whopping $4 dollars! I know right? I don't usually go out of my way to save money but damn if my mom wouldn't have fainted at those savings. I high tailed it to the car,
changed & it all felt very effortless.
The event was jam packed with cast members, producers & many other Chicago influencers.
Shout out to the big homie DJ Protege, who arrived at the red-carpet with a beautiful arm piece & a super cut tux. Taylor Bennett was among the attendees as well as other local radio host's & DJ's. I took my compliments with NO grains of salt because I felt fresh af. I had a great time & can't wait to hit another premiere soon.
Shout out to Dometi, Contexture TV & Swank Publishing.
"All Eyez On Me" is now playing in theaters.
